The preface states: “Subscribers are requested not to bind their books till the expiration of 3 years, when,by a vote of the grand lodge, the laws are tob e again revised. Should any alteration or additions be then made, the sheets in wich such alterations occur will be re-printed and forwarded toe ach subscriber.”

 

“At the particular request of many members of the craft this second part of the book of constitutions is published…that the lodges and brethren may, so much the sooner,possess the Laws and Regulations of the Society. The first part, containing The History of Masonry, from the earliest period tot he end of the year 1815, with Preface and copious Index tot he whole work,will be printed with as little delay as possible “ –page(3).
